Summary
Early Warning® is seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Commerce to join their team in Scottsdale, AZ. The role involves being a hands-on technical leader responsible for setting standards of excellence in software engineering across multiple teams.
About the Role
As a Principal Software Engineer - Commerce, you will partner with product management to craft product strategy, mentor team members, create technical product designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape engineering approaches. You will also be responsible for designing application service solutions aligned with technology strategy, supporting risk management, and influencing change management within the organization.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
- Fifteen or more years of experience in designing and developing complex software projects, with at least eight years in the FinTech domain.
- 1-2 years of experience implementing application solutions/services in Cloud using Containerization, CI/CD, and Automated testing.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams to create technical solutions.
- Effective communicator with exceptional public speaking skills.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN, etc.).
- Proven track record designing and building complex end-to-end systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java RESTful Web Services, Microservices Architecture, and Open Source Frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and modern Cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or MS Azure.
Preferred:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another technical field.
- Knowledge of Splunk, Altiris & Zabbix.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS.
- Experience with various Database design and architectures.
- Expertise in Terraform and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.
- Experience with Monitoring & Alerting systems like AppDynamics.
- Experience with other programming languages like C#, Ruby, Python, and PHP.
- Knowledge of ACH/EFT and real-time payment networks (RTP, FedNow).
- Experience with migrating application services from on-prem to Cloud.
- Cloud/Kubernetes certification.
