Summary

HawkEye 360 is seeking a Principal Software-Systems Architect to join their team in Herndon, VA. The role involves leading Systems Engineering activities related to the development of space and ground Software architectures and solutions.

About the Role

As a Principal Software-Systems Architect, you will set the overall systems engineering software technical vision, roadmap, and architectures. You will lead the software and processing technical vision, help build organizational standards, support end-to-end system designs, and collaborate with executive leadership to align Software-Systems Engineering strategy with company objectives.

About You

Required:

MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
15+ years of professional software and systems engineering experience, with significant focus on space-based software development.
10+ years of experience leading engineering teams or engineering activities.
Experience building production-facing cloud software with modern development tooling.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Preferred:

Background in satellite-based remote sensing and collaborating with physics-heavy research teams.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning infrastructure.
Familiarity with backend data platform systems and modern on-premise computing or hybrid-cloud environments.
