AMD is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineering - AI Server/Rack Infrastructure to join their team in Santa Clara, CA. The role involves owning system design support, rack-level bring-up, and critical customer engagement for the AMD Instinct product line.
About the Role
As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will act as the technical bridge between AMD's internal system architects, platform development teams, and OEM partners. Your responsibilities include system architecture and design support, solution optimization, design reviews, hands-on engineering, issue resolution, and leading customer engagement efforts. You will also provide technical documentation, influence future product architecture, and mentor senior engineers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Advanced experience in system architecture, hardware/firmware debug, and customer-facing engineering roles.
Preferred:
- Deep understanding of Server/Rack system architecture (x86, GPU, PCIe, Interconnects).
- Strong proficiency in System Firmware (BIOS/UEFI, BMC/OpenBMC) debug and deployment strategies.
- Experience with system bring-up and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ITP, JTAG).
- Proven track record of leading technical teams through complex problem-solving scenarios.
