Summary
Amgen is seeking a Process Development Senior Scientist to join their Drug Substance Technologies - Synthetics group at their Thousand Oaks campus. The role involves inventing and developing drug substance manufacturing processes and technologies.
About the Role
In this vital role, you will be responsible for inventing synthetic routes, developing safe and cost-effective processes, supporting cGMP manufacturing, ensuring process performance, and contributing to drug substance development teams. You will work cross-functionally to deliver regulatory documents and serve as a technical expert in organic and process chemistry.
About You
Required:
- Doctorate degree in Chemistry completed by June 2026
- OR Masters degree in Chemistry and 4 years of industry experience
- OR Bachelors degree in Chemistry and 6 years of industry experience
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in organic chemistry with a specialization in total synthesis, reaction methodology and/or mechanistic studies
- Post-doctoral experience in an academic laboratory or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and research presentations
- Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
