KBR, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist (Buyer) for their National Security Solutions team in Washington, DC. The role supports the Naval Research Laboratory's Spacecraft Engineering Division and involves managing procurement actions for specialized systems and services to support national security.
About the Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you will manage the supplier purchasing process end-to-end, including preparing bid packages, issuing solicitations, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, administering purchase orders, managing supplier performance, ensuring timely invoice payments, driving risk mitigation, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, supporting internal customers, and resolving supplier-related issues.
About You
Required:
- Experience in space hardware related procurement
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Experience with Costpoint software
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- At least 2 years of relevant procurement experience (or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite – M365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers
- Strong communication skills
Preferred:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government procurement processes and regulations
- Experience developing requests for proposals, evaluating bids, and managing supplier performance
