Summary
SpotOn is seeking a Product Manager: Payments to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves owning the strategy and execution for payment acceptance capabilities across card-present and card-not-present experiences in the hospitality sector.
About the Role
As the Product Manager, Payment Acceptance, you will define how payments are presented, authorized, captured, and accepted, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance while driving a best-in-class experience for hospitality merchants. You will collaborate with engineering, design, operations, sales, and external payment partners to deliver scalable payment flows and improve payment performance metrics.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on payments, fintech, or closely related financial services products.
- Deep understanding of card-present and card-not-present payment acceptance, including authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, tokenization, risk, and chargeback flows.
- Strong analytical skills, including comfort working with large payment datasets and using data to drive prioritization and experimentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payment concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience working with payment processors, acquirers, gateways, or card networks, ideally in a platform or multi-tenant merchant environment.
- Hospitality, retail, or point-of-sale experience.
