Georgia Pacific is seeking a Production Technician to join their team at the OSB plant in Gladys, VA. The role involves operating equipment to produce and maintain quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
About the Role
As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for operating heavy and moving manufacturing equipment, monitoring system performance, and ensuring product quality. You will work in various departments, including Log Yard, Dryer & Energy, Press, and Finishing, on 12-hour rotating shifts that may include weekends and holidays. The position requires compliance with safety policies and the ability to work in high and confined spaces.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One or more years of experience in an industrial, military, manufacturing, warehouse, home improvement retail, and/or farming environment
- Experience using a computer, smartphone, and/or tablet for documentation and/or record-keeping functions
Preferred:
- Experience operating industrial machines in a manufacturing environment
- HMI experience
- Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment
- Three or more years of industrial or manufacturing experience
- Experience operating mobile equipment
- Experience working in a computer-controlled environment
- Experience in a logging environment
- Experience in control cab operations
