About the Role
As a Professional Billing Coder - Surgical Specialty, you will be responsible for assigning accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for cardiothoracic and other special surgical services. Your daily tasks will include reviewing operative reports and clinic notes, applying appropriate modifiers and bundling rules, ensuring compliance with billing guidelines, and participating in internal quality reviews and audits.
About You
Required:
- Minimum 2+ years of professional billing coding experience.
- Demonstrated experience coding complex surgical services.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and NCCI edits.
- Experience in hospital-based physician billing environments.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
Preferred:
- CPC or equivalent coding certification.
