Community High School District 94 is seeking a Program Assistant for the Alternative Education STAR Program in West Chicago, IL. The role involves assisting staff to achieve individual student academic and personal objectives.
About the Role
As a Program Assistant in Alternative Education, you will provide assistance with classroom management, promote a welcoming atmosphere, attend student conferences, help students with note taking and assignment completion, adapt instructional materials, and maintain rapport with students. You will also assist with procedural tasks, reinforce lessons, evaluate student work, escort students, and provide clerical support to teachers.
About You
Required:
- ISBE license or paraprofessional letter of approval required.
- Possess adequate content knowledge (Math, English, Science) to assist high school level students.
Preferred:
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
- Previous math knowledge and/or willingness to learn math quickly.
Benefits
- Starting rate is $17.63 per hour or $19.63 per hour with 5+ years of experience.
- This is a 10 month calendar position (8 hours per day).
