Summary
WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Overland Park, KS. The role involves providing technical assistance and guidance for various utility and commercial scale projects.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility projects. You will assist with the research and design of substations, power distribution, and renewable energy systems, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards. Your role will also include leading project work, mentoring less-experienced engineers, and communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Experience working with Operations and project controls for reporting and proposal development.
- Working knowledge of engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, and compliance practices.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving electrical engineering principles.
Preferred:
- Two (2) + years of experience leading engineering project teams.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Experience with preparing project work scope documents, schedules, and budgets.
- Experience performing substation, transmission, and/or distribution design for electric cooperatives.
