Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Instrumentation & Controls Engineer 2 - Nuclear to join their team in Waterford, CT. The role involves working on major process controls engineering projects for nuclear power plants, focusing on instrumentation and controls systems.
About the Role
As a Project Instrumentation & Controls Engineer 2, you will develop complex programs for nuclear power projects, direct technical decision-making in a project team, troubleshoot instrumentation and controls engineering issues, coordinate systems design activities, perform digital systems design development, and prepare documentation and reports to meet client requirements. You will also interface with vendors and support station outage activities as required.
About You
Required:
- A BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- 12 or more years of experience in the design of instrumentation and controls engineering systems in a project team environment for non-commercial, heavy industrial plants.
- Experience with controls system design for low and medium voltage distribution systems and controls for equipment including turbines and pumps.
- Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls systems design for BWR or PWR reactors.
Preferred:
- PE license.
- Construction and start-up experience.
- Commissioning experience.
- Broad background in providing technical support to nuclear plant projects.
