Summary
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a Project Manager, PMO to join their team in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role involves managing the success of all projects in the portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with business priorities.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, PMO, you will be responsible for directing large-scale, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, defining project scope and deliverables, creating and executing project plans, and monitoring project status. You will lead and mentor project teams, create risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with project management standards. Additionally, you will prepare project status reports and manage project-related purchases.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience managing IT projects in a law firm or financial services environment.
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project and other program management tools.
- In-depth understanding of project management concepts.
Preferred:
- PMP, Prince2 or CAPM certification.
- Experience with software development lifecycles (Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall).
- PMO experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related tools, including intermediate Excel skills.
