AtkinsRéalise is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer to join their team in Orange, CT, Rochester, NY, or Binghamton, NY. The role involves developing efficient and reliable electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations.
About the Role
As a Protection & Control Engineer, you will work within a multi-discipline team to coordinate design activities, assist in site visits, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Your responsibilities will include designing electrical substation facilities, preparing specifications, delivering accurate designs, reviewing compliance, providing construction support, and mentoring developing engineers.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in P&C electrical design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE.
Preferred:
- A Professional Engineer (PE) registration (or eligible for registration).
- Experience with IEC61850/Goose Messaging.
- Knowledge of modern power system, power system protection and transmission & distribution system.
- Prior utility or utility consulting experience.
