Texas Department of State Health Services is seeking a Public Health Nurse IV to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves overseeing the daily operations and staff of the Maternal Health and Safety branch, developing and evaluating branch programs, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
About the Role
As a Public Health Nurse IV, you will serve as the Branch Manager, responsible for managing the Maternal Health and Safety branch's operations. Your duties will include developing and implementing goals for programs like TexasAIM, supervising staff, leading quality improvement initiatives, and overseeing grants and contracts related to maternal health. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with agency and state health objectives.
About You
Required:
Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the field of maternal and child health or similar program with a public health perspective.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervision of employees including hiring, staff development and evaluation.
Preferred:
Experience in program planning and management.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations impacting maternal and child health.
