About the Role
As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all patients, caregivers, visitors, and property at St. Charles Health System. Your duties will include operating metal detectors, inspecting buildings for security, providing professional service to patients and families, coordinating with staff, managing crowd control during emergencies, monitoring security cameras, and following safety procedures. You will also support the organization's mission and values while delivering excellent customer service.
About You
Required:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Ability to obtain DPSST Armed/Unarmed Professional certification within 90 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
Preferred:
- Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO).
- One year of corrections, military, first responder (law enforcement, EMS), Behavioral health or related security experience.
- One year customer service related experience with heavy public contact.
- Two years security experience in a hospital setting.
