The Institute Of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) is seeking a Senior / Associate Heritage Consultant to join their team in Manchester, PA. The role involves leading heritage consultancy efforts in the north region, providing expert advice on managing change in the historic built environment.
About the Role
As a Senior / Associate Heritage Consultant, you will lead one of the regional heritage consultancy teams, advising on architectural, landscape, and master-planning projects across the north of England, Wales, and Scotland. Your responsibilities will include providing high-quality heritage advice, preparing Conservation Management Plans, and expanding the project portfolio through business development and networking.
About You
Required:
A skills base in building conservation, buildings archaeology, heritage planning, or a relevant field with at least 5 years of professional experience.
Excellent skills in archival and desk-based research, on-site built fabric analysis, and producing well-written reports.
Proven track record in providing advice as a heritage lead.
Experience in planning and managing your own workload and that of others, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in preparing fee proposals and bids.
Working knowledge of current UK heritage legislation, policy, and guidance.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the markets in the north of England and Scotland.
Line management experience.
Demonstrable track record in work winning for yourself and a team.
Membership(s) of professional institutions, such as the IHBC or CIFA.
A UK driving licence.
