About the Role
As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, including planning, purchasing goods and services, evaluating and negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships. You will draft specifications, conduct bidder conferences, and supervise subordinate personnel while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
About You
Required:
Three years of technical clerical work plus three years of experience in procurement, purchasing, contracting, or acquisition.
Knowledge of procurement processes and contract administration principles.
Preferred:
Experience with State Purchase Card program, preferably as a previous administrator.
Certification as a Certified Procurement Officer (CPO) within eleven months of appointment.
