Code and Theory is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role involves ensuring the quality of web experiences and custom products through collaboration with engineering, design, and product teams.
About the Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will execute hands-on testing of responsive web and mobile applications, identify opportunities for code and process improvements, and collaborate with product teams to implement testing strategies. You will also provide estimates for testing efforts, communicate test progress, participate in requirements gathering, and support release cycles.
About You
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in designing stable tests that minimize flakiness across web and mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and test libraries.
- Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience with API testing and exposure to load testing tools.
- Ability to identify application performance issues and optimize code.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and backend languages like PHP or Java.
- Solid understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA+ accessibility standards.
Preferred:
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence for defect logging and test planning.
- A positive, solutions-oriented attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- An open mindset toward mentorship and professional development.
