enable Technology is seeking a Quantum Imaging & Algorithms Scientist to join their team in Boston, MA. The role involves building simulations and algorithms to optimize imaging and sensing systems for a groundbreaking hardware prototype.
About the Role
As the first algorithms hire, you will work closely with the CTO and optical engineering team to develop and optimize algorithms for the initial prototype, which will be launched into Low Earth Orbit. Your responsibilities will include calculating quantum limits, conducting simulations, and developing machine learning tools for object classification and data extraction from photons. The role requires adaptability as the project expands into robotics and advanced manufacturing.
About You
Required:
- PhD (or Masters with industry experience) in Physics, Electrical/Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar, with a focus on quantum optics and/or quantum information theory.
- 5+ years of experience in the research of Quantum Optics or Quantum Information Theory.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages for simulations (Python, MATLAB, R).
- Deep understanding of quantum optics concepts (photon statistics, entanglement, interferometry).
- Deep understanding of information theory and communication protocols.
- Experience developing and implementing numerical algorithms.
- Experience with machine learning algorithms.
Preferred:
- Experience with optical neural networks modeling and simulation.
- Experience with optical hardware and experimental work.
- Experience in Defense and/or Space technologies.
