City of Charlotte is seeking a Rail MOW Maintainer Lead, Traction Power/OCS to join their Transit & Rail Maintenance department. The role involves leading technicians in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of traction power substations and overhead contact systems.
About the Role
As a Rail MOW Maintainer Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in performing complex troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repairs of traction power equipment and overhead contact systems. You will respond to emergencies, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and provide support for light rail services. The position requires availability for various shifts, including nights and weekends, and may involve on-call duties.
About You
Required:
High school diploma/GED with five (5) years of experience or an associate degree with three (3) years of experience.
Certificate in electrical engineering or electrical technology from an accredited technical school.
Experience in repairing and maintaining high voltage electrical systems including overhead power lines under tension.
A valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License Class B.
Preferred:
Knowledge of FRA and APTA regulations and standards.
Successful completion of CATS MOW inspection, testing and maintenance training and qualification program.
