About the Role
As a Realtime Rendering and Graphics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the rendering engine for Apple Maps, focusing on performance testing strategies, analyzing performance data, enhancing testing frameworks, and collaborating with graphics engineers to optimize performance. You will also create dashboards and reports to communicate performance insights to stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- BA/BS and 5 years working on 3D realtime rendering applications.
- High proficiency in writing safe, performant C++ code.
- Knowledge of the graphics pipeline, modern rendering techniques, and image processing.
- Experience with modern graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D 12, WebGPU) and shading languages (MSL, HLSL, GLSL, WGSL).
- Ability to solve problems in 3D geometry using linear algebra.
- Experience with all stages of software development, from prototyping to performance optimization.
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding teamwork and communication skills.
- Passionate about owning and refining features.
Preferred:
- MS or PhD in CS or related technical field.
- Experience developing interactive 3D engines on mobile platforms like iOS, Android or Linux.
- Familiarity with AR/VR rendering technologies.
