About the Role

As a Referral Coordinator I, you will be responsible for obtaining authorizations from insurance, scheduling with external providers, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and billing guidelines. You will serve as a first-line resource for customers regarding referrals, process patient referrals to specialty providers, and maintain accurate documentation. The role requires excellent patient relations skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and outside departments.

About You

Required:

High school diploma or certificate.
One year experience in a healthcare setting.
One year experience in customer service related field.
One year of using medical terminology.
One year experience in medical referral insurance.

Preferred:

Basic knowledge of Family Medicine Practices.
Basic medical terminology.
Knowledge of various insurance plans such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial insurances.
