About the Role
As a Reforestation Intern, you will develop skills in forest habitat restoration and reforestation projects, including site assessments, invasive species management, native plant propagation, and outplanting. You will work primarily in the field, with responsibilities split between Lorenzo State Historic Site and SUNY Morrisville, and will also engage in greenhouse production and office tasks.
About You
Required:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at a SUNY institution in environmental science, conservation, natural resource management, forestry, horticulture, or a related field.
- Experience with environmental field work including plant identification, invasive species management, planting, and/or propagation.
- Valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.
Preferred:
- Experience with ArcGIS and associated mobile field applications.
- Self-motivated with good time management and organizational skills.
Benefits
- Hourly pay rate of $19.04 for undergraduates and $21.57 for graduates.
