About the Role
As a Relief Counselor, you will work under the supervision of the Program Director or Assistant Director, replacing regular counselors in their absence and providing essential support to clients. Your responsibilities will include developing respectful relationships with clients, monitoring medication intake, documenting client progress, and assisting in compliance with agency policies. You will also provide crisis intervention, conduct educational classes, and facilitate structured program activities.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be available to work evening, overnight, and weekend shifts on short notice.
Preferred:
- BA in psychology or related field is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of one year full-time experience working in a program serving persons with mental disabilities is preferred.
- Experience in psychiatric rehabilitation, preferably in a social rehabilitation environment is preferred.
