About the Role
As a Relief Technician, you will perform functions such as technical director/automation, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera, chyron/graphics, and floor directing. You must have a solid understanding of live production elements, particularly in news production, and be able to operate live broadcast equipment. The position requires critical thinking under pressure while adhering to strict time constraints and working cohesively with a team. You will interact professionally with on-air and off-air staff, production, technical crews, and management.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience in the broadcast technician, control room/master control, and news environment in a medium to major size market.
- Excellent communication skills and strong technical skills in systems and equipment software.
Preferred:
- Friendly and collaborative spirit with a positive attitude and good judgment.
- Flexibility in scheduling for evenings, early mornings, weekends, and the ability to work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment.
