About the Role
As a Research Assistant I, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing samples from bioreactors at the Wareham Pollution Control Facility to evaluate the efficacy of wastewater treatment. This role involves working with biogeochemical analyses and requires proficiency in data processing using Excel. You will also assist in fieldwork preparations and must be comfortable in a wastewater treatment environment.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology, geoscience, environmental science, or engineering.
- Experience with biogeochemical analyses including nutrient and elemental analysis using spectrophotometers and automated analyzers.
- Proficiency in using Excel for data entry and processing.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a pickup truck or van.
- Willingness to work in the field during inclement weather and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred:
- Experience evaluating basic wastewater treatment processes such as BOD and coliform counts.
- Comfortable swimming.
