About the Role
The Retail Banker I acts as a customer liaison, utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with banking solutions. Responsibilities include educating customers on bank products and services, identifying opportunities for referrals, building and nurturing customer relationships, making product recommendations, resolving customer issues, participating in customer outreach and advice activities, engaging in loan product conversations and application intake, and maintaining active registration with NMLS. The role requires proficiency in banking products, services, and routine transactions, and adherence to operational policies and risk frameworks.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience.
- Ability to complete teller training upon hire to handle customer transactions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must maintain active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
Preferred:
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Teller experience.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations while educating them on products and services.
- Notary License.
