Northwest Healthcare Tucson is seeking a Full-time RN First Assist (RNFA) for the Main OR at Oro Valley Hospital. The role involves providing quality care to patients before, during, and after surgery.
About the Role
As an RN First Assist, you will function as a First Assistant to the surgeon, providing scrub and circulating nurse services during surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing operating rooms, assisting with patient positioning, and supporting the surgical team by anticipating the surgeon's needs. You will also be involved in retracting tissue, providing homeostasis, and assisting in the closure of incisions.
About You
Required:
- Successful completion of an Accredited Surgical First Assistant (RNFA, CFA, or CSA) program.
- Two (2) years of OR experience as a Surgical Tech or RN.
- Current certification for CSA or CFA and BLS required.
- Unrestricted Arizona RN license and CNOR certification for RNFA.
Preferred:
- One (1) year of First Assistant experience.
- Documentation of 100 cases as a First Assistant in the past 2 years.
