About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the DeKalb Labor and Delivery Unit, you will be responsible for evaluating assigned patients, planning and implementing nursing care, assisting physicians during examinations, performing patient tests, and administering medications. You will promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families about conditions and self-care. The position requires a high degree of creativity and judgment, typically reporting to a unit manager.
About You
Required:
- Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current License with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
- ACLS certification after 6 months.
- PALS certification may be required based on patient population.
