About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Acute Medical Care Unit, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of patients. Your duties will include evaluating assigned patients, implementing and documenting nursing care, assisting physicians during examinations, performing patient tests, and administering medications. You will promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions and self-care skills. The role requires a high degree of creativity and judgment, and you will typically report to a manager or head of the unit.
About You
Required:
- Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
- ACLS certification after 6 months.
