About the Role
As a Safety and Crashworthiness CAE Engineer, you will be responsible for performing structural crashworthiness and occupant safety simulations, executing occupant safety simulations with dummy and human body models, and conducting correlation studies between CAE results and physical crash test data. You will work closely with crash performance test engineers and collaborate with other engineering teams to develop designs that meet safety targets. Additionally, you will track safety performance against targets and create technical reports as needed.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field of engineering.
- 3+ years of professional experience in performing safety simulations.
- Strong knowledge in automotive structure, crashworthiness, and safety performance.
- Hands-on experience utilizing various safety CAE software packages for pre/post-processing.
- Strong analytical skills to make meaningful conclusions from CAE simulations and physical tests.
Preferred:
- In-depth understanding of LS-Dyna explicit solver/material models/element formulation.
- Strong knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), NCAP, and IIHS safety evaluations.
- Experience using data analysis tools for testing purposes.
- Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills.
