Summary
Broward County Public Schools is seeking a School Police Officer for the PM Shift to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students, parents, staff, and the community.
About the Role
As a School Police Officer, you will support the Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness Division by providing on-site professional safety and security services. Your responsibilities include performing law enforcement functions, protecting school sites, participating in Behavioral Threat Assessments, enhancing student knowledge of law enforcement, and conducting investigations. You will also serve as a liaison to law enforcement and community agencies, assist with emergency situations, and present educational programs on crime prevention.
About You
Required:
- Standard high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three years of full-time law enforcement experience.
- Currently certified and in good standing as a Florida criminal justice officer in Law Enforcement.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- Prior experience working with students or adolescents.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, or related field.
- Certification in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
- Prior military service.
- Bilingual skills.
