About the Role
As a School Safety and Security Officer, you will be responsible for securing entrances and exits, performing routine patrols, directing students and guests, enforcing policies, reporting incidents, and maintaining communication with staff. You will also participate in required training and support in crisis situations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or formal experience in law enforcement or organizational security.
- Retired or active Law Enforcement in good standing or holding current Illinois Retiree Officers Concealed Carry licenses.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer or ten (10) years active-duty military experience.
- Valid State of Illinois driver's license.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with high school students in a supervision capacity.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and basic knowledge of technology and safety/security software.
- Experience with NIMS (National Incident Command System).
- Knowledge of current trends in public school safety and relevant state statutes.
