Quantinuum is seeking a Semiconductor Fabrication Scientist to join their team in Plymouth, MN. The role involves participating in the development and manufacturing of microfabricated ion traps, including design, layout, fabrication, and characterization.
About the Role
As a Semiconductor Fabrication Scientist, you will be responsible for all stages of development and manufacturing of microfabricated ion traps. This includes creating new concepts, developing designs and process flows, assessing requirements, and collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to translate system requirements into functional hardware. You will also engage with third parties to build partnerships and contribute to long-term planning for future designs.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in MEMS fabrication, IC fabrication, integrated optics of waveguides, or chip-scale photonics.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. Government requirements.
Preferred:
- PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or Engineering.
- Experience interfacing with a semiconductor foundry.
- Relevant experience with process integration in a micro-fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Experience with a wide range of semiconductor/MEMS processes and processing tools.
- Knowledge of on-chip photonics, wafer fabrication, and fiber-to-chip coupling.
- Experience with Finite Element Modeling of MEMS-like structures.
- Experience working in an R&D environment.
- Published results within their field of research.
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written.
