Summary
KARL STORZ North America is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in El Segundo, CA. The role involves supporting the integrity of financial operations, including month-end and year-end close activities, financial analysis, and reporting.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, drafting financial commentary, and reconciling intercompany balances. You will also trace transactions through SAP, conduct GAAP research, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. Additionally, you will provide guidance to Staff Accountants and lead cross-functional initiatives.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar, Master’s a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (including 2+ years in public accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and general ledger transactions
- Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and implement process improvements
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Experience with SAP
- Audit experience
- Tableau or data visualization experience
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools that improve financial analysis and efficiency
