Summary
Mercy Ships is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Lindale, Texas. The role involves leading the team to ensure accurate and timely financial records for the organization.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will analyze accounting records, including financial statements, to assess accuracy and completeness. You will collaborate with the Controller and Assistant Controller on fiscal strategies, review account records, develop systems for financial record maintenance, and assist in creating accounting policies. You may also coach and mentor staff accountants and clerks.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience plus five years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
Preferred:
- Experience in non-profit and international accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
