Summary
Orion Group is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join their team remotely. The role focuses on building scalable analytics systems to enhance leadership's visibility into financial performance and operations.
About the Role
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for creating Orion's first real analytics layer, building BI dashboards, translating management reporting into validated analytics models, and integrating data from various sources. You will iterate on reporting based on feedback and document datasets for clarity and reusability.
About You
Required:
- 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI engineering, or advanced analytics roles.
- Deep hands-on experience building production-grade dashboards and data models.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort sourcing data from APIs, connectors, and external systems.
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake or similar).
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar).
- Experience with financial and operational data from ERP and business systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, or similar).
- A disciplined approach to producing clear documentation.
Preferred:
- Judgment to use lightweight automation or no-code tools when appropriate.
- Ability to operate independently without heavy processing or a large team.
- Strong bias toward pragmatic MVPs and rapid iteration.
