Abbott is seeking a Senior Auditor, Global Finance Audit to join their team in Chicago, IL. The role involves conducting financial and operational audits throughout Abbott's international and domestic organizations and formulating recommendations for improvement in operating performance and control.
About the Role
As a Senior Global Finance Auditor, you will perform financial audits of Abbott Laboratories' domestic and international businesses over an 18-24 month rotation in Corporate Audit. Your responsibilities include assessing the accuracy of financial statements, adequacy of internal controls, and identifying business process improvements. You will document all audit work clearly and establish positive working relationships with management while maintaining independence and objectivity.
About You
Required:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-6 busy seasons in internal/external audit practice of a public accounting firm, Big 4, highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley; experience in performing financial statement audits for SEC clients and/or SOX processes and controls.
- Project management experience including the ability to organize, plan, prioritize and complete assignments with little or no supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to express a point of view and advise on risk and control considerations.
- Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information.
- 40-60% travel to Abbott's International and Domestic locations required.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing and/or international business experience desirable.
- CPA or other certification (CFE, CIA, CMA), highly preferred.
