Summary
ResMed is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team in Chatsworth, CA. The role involves developing and implementing automation for manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity in healthcare technologies.
About the Role
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will design and implement automation solutions, optimize manufacturing processes, troubleshoot and maintain automation systems, collaborate with product development and production teams, and ensure process validation and documentation. Your responsibilities will include PLC programming, robotics, and cross-functional collaboration to drive automation initiatives.
About You
Required:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with automated control systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley/Rockwell).
- Fanuc robotics programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in SolidWorks, mechanical design, and process improvements.
Preferred:
- Machine vision, servos, and sensor technologies in automation.
- Electrical skills, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of safety standards (ISO, IEC, OSHA).
- Knowledge of networked I/O systems (Ethernet/IP, IO-Link).
- Experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing and QMS.
- Experience in volume manufacturing.
- Experience in bringing new designs into production.
- Experience with process validation within a regulated Quality System environment.
- Experience in lean manufacturing.
