Amgen is seeking a Sr Automation Engineer (Delta-V) to join their team in West Greenwich, RI. The role involves supporting process automation initiatives and providing project leadership at the Amgen Rhode Island site.
About the Role
As a Sr Automation Engineer, you will lead and support capital project planning and execution, facilitate the application of automation engineering principles, and provide technical support for process control issues. You will work closely with multiple subject areas to manage a diverse portfolio of projects and provide mentorship to the Automation Engineering team. The role also includes 24x7 on-call support of Automation systems.
About You
Required:
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of automation and/or engineering experience OR Associates degree and 8 years of automation and/or engineering experience OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of automation and/or engineering experience OR Masters degree and 2 years of automation and/or engineering experience OR Doctorate degree.
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
5+ years experience in Process Automation Engineering in a manufacturing support environment with at least 3+ years experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries.
5+ years combined experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems.
Programming expertise with SCADA, PLC, HMI, and web based applications.
Familiarity with industry standards for batch control systems, SDLC methodologies, S88, 21 CFR Part 11, Validation, and GAMP.
Strong control system automation background. Design, installation, programming and validation of automated processes.
Experience with Mammalian Cell Culture, Protein Purification, Clean Utilities, CIP, SIP, Production Services and non-GMP Utilities preferred.
Experience with Tech Transfer, Process Design, and Commissioning.
Experience with validation and change control methodology.
