About the Role
As a Senior Bank Counsel, you will be responsible for offering legal support for lending teams, conducting legal research, advising on loan structures and documentation, and managing outside counsel relationships. You will also provide legal support for commercial deposit products and assist the Special Assets team with loan workout matters. This position requires collaboration with various business teams and participation in bank legal projects.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience practicing law full-time in a legal department of a medium or large financial institution, or with a major law firm serving financial institutions.
- Admitted to practice, and in good standing with the bar of one of the states in the Bank's footprint, preferably Illinois, Indiana, or Minnesota.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of federal and applicable state banking laws and regulations relating to lending and special assets.
- Experience with loan workouts, foreclosures, receiverships, and bankruptcies.
