Summary
Charter Impact is seeking a Senior Benefits & Retirement Specialist to join their remote team. The role involves overseeing retirement-related functions and managing benefits administration processes for clients.
About the Role
As a Senior Benefits & Retirement Specialist, you will act as the primary liaison for clients with County Offices of Education, CalSTRS, and CalPERS. Your responsibilities include responding to escalated issues, maintaining documentation for retirement plans, auditing contributions, managing open enrollment processes, and assisting clients with benefits-related inquiries. You will collaborate with the Payroll team to ensure compliance and streamline processes.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in retirement plan administration, benefits administration, or payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of CalSTRS, CalPERS, and 403(b) retirement plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced level required).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or a related field.
- Experience with employee benefits administration, open enrollment, and compliance.
- Experience in payroll processing systems such as Paycor, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Frontline, or Paychex.
- Experience with Sage Intacct / Abila Non-Profit Accounting.
- Knowledge of non-profit and charter school payroll compliance.
