RAI Institute is seeking a Senior Build Engineer to join their team in Cambridge, MA. The role involves developing, supporting, and maintaining the build system and continuous integration processes critical to the Institute's success.
About the Role
As a Senior Build Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain a company-wide build system and CI infrastructure, ensuring reliable and reproducible builds. You will collaborate with research and development teams, drive release engineering efforts, troubleshoot build failures, and implement optimized build pipelines. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers in best practices related to build systems and CI.
About You
Required:
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in Linux build/release engineering.
Strong experience with build automation tools (e.g., Bazel, CMake, Colcon).
Experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later) and Python.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Google Artifact Registry, or other artifact management platforms.
Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 in a robotics environment.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Background in real-time systems.
