Summary
Aurora is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves designing and implementing security capabilities for Aurora's cloud infrastructure and services, particularly focusing on AWS and Kubernetes.
About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will take ownership of critical security infrastructure projects, including certificate management, IAM governance, network segmentation, and security best practices within AWS and EKS. You will also lead threat modeling exercises, provide architectural guidance, and automate security remediation processes.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in software, platform, or security engineering, with at least 3+ years in public cloud security (AWS required).
- Expert-level experience securing and operating complex AWS environments, including IAM, VPC Networking, Security Hub, Config, GuardDuty, and KMS.
- Proven ability to design and implement security controls for Kubernetes (EKS).
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming/scripting language (e.g., Python or Go).
- Experience writing, reviewing, and scaling infrastructure with Terraform.
Preferred:
- Deep understanding of enterprise-level network security, operating system security (Linux), and application security principles.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including security testing integration into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
