Summary

EY is seeking a Senior Counsel - Intellectual Property to join their team in Orlando, FL. The role involves providing legal support and guidance on intellectual property matters to protect firm assets and negotiate contracts.

About the Role

As a Senior Counsel – Intellectual Property, you will provide comprehensive legal advice on all IP matters, including advising on IP infringement, refining patent strategies, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to support legal frameworks. You will also conduct patentability assessments and lead training on IP best practices.

About You

Required:

7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in an engineering or science field) from an accredited four-year college/university.
Juris Doctor from a top national law school.
Good standing with a State Bar, including being current on individual state CLE requirements.
Recent experience in providing business-practical legal advice on complex IP matters.

Preferred:

Knowledge of legal considerations relevant to complex technology and emerging technologies (including Generative AI).
Experience drafting and negotiating complex license agreements and technology transfer agreements.
Familiarity with open-source software compliance and related issues.
