Summary
EY is seeking a Senior Counsel - Intellectual Property to join their team, providing legal support and guidance on IP matters to enhance the firm's business operations.
About the Role
As a Senior Counsel – Intellectual Property, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice on all IP matters, advising business stakeholders on their IP rights, refining patent strategies, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and collaborating with product teams to protect the firm's IP rights. You will also support due diligence for IP transactions and develop customized IP protection strategies.
About You
Required:
- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in an engineering or science field) from an accredited four-year college/university.
- Juris Doctor from a top national law school.
- Good standing with a State Bar, including being current on individual state CLE requirements.
- Recent experience in providing business-practical legal advice on complex IP matters.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of legal considerations relevant to complex technology and emerging technologies (including Generative AI).
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex license agreements and technology transfer agreements.
- Familiarity with open-source software compliance and related issues.
