About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist on the SPICE team, you will lead the development of AI-powered insights solutions, analyze emerging therapeutic modalities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support AbbVie's R&D and corporate strategies. Your responsibilities include designing advanced algorithms, extracting and integrating knowledge from various sources, and mentoring junior scientists.
About You
Required:
- PhD in life sciences with 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience at Master's (10+ years) or Bachelor's (12+ years) level.
- Deep knowledge of emerging therapeutic modalities such as biotherapeutics and gene therapies.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering technology solutions that meet business objectives.
- Proficiency in Python and a solid background in programming, informatics, and data science.
- Hands-on expertise in knowledge extraction from literature, patents, and competitive intelligence databases.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with data engineering and software development principles.
- Experience with embedding Gen AI models in Python workflows.
- Basic understanding of agents and agentic workflows.
