Summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Electrical & Control Designer 1 for their Government Services Group in Richland, WA. The role involves designing and drafting for DOE facility projects, including instrumentation and control systems.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical & Control Designer 1, you will work on multi-disciplined project teams to design new Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based control systems, instrumentation, and automation systems. Your responsibilities will include preparing design media for procurement, creating design drawings, and applying computer-aided drafting skills in 2D and 3D environments. You will also assist experienced engineers in gathering information for design projects.
About You
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in drafting and design.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and related software.
- Experience in designing instrumentation, control systems, and automation in a project team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to work.
Preferred:
- BIM modeling using Autodesk products (Revit) or equivalent.
- Experience with MicroStation and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with ProjectWise or SmartPlant Foundation.
- Basic knowledge of I&C applicable codes and standards such as UL-508A, NFPA/NEC, ISA.
