Summary
Astrobotic is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Mojave, CA. The role involves managing the development of electronic systems for propulsion testing capabilities and VTVL launch vehicle avionics.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing flight hardware avionics, performing trade studies for electrical and avionics systems, contributing expertise in design and testing of avionics systems for launch vehicles, analyzing operating modes of the launch vehicle, selecting components from vendors, developing test scripts, and participating in qualification tests of flight design units.
About You
Required:
- Schematic and board design proficiency using software like Altium, Eagle, OrCAD, or similar.
- Rapid prototype development skills.
- Strong debugging skills.
- Experience developing hardware from concept to working prototypes.
- Experience with communications protocols such as RS-422/RS-485/CAN/Ethernet/SPI/I2C/UART.
- Digital, analog, and signal conditioning design skills.
- Hands-on electrical integration and test skills.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electronics hardware development.
- B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Work Experience.
Preferred:
- Experience as Electrical Engineering technical lead for launch vehicles, rocket subsystems, or Avionics subsystems.
- Capable of programming FPGAs, microcontrollers, or similar.
- Knowledge of Range Safety and Ground Safety electronics compliance.
- Knowledge of CPU design.
- Knowledge of PC/104 design.
- Experience with testing for MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, or similar.
- M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
