HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join their team in Tucson, AZ. The role involves leading teams for power generation design projects and serving as Owner's Engineer and/or Advisor for natural gas and renewable energy generation projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Power Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, contracting, and implementing power generation projects. Your tasks will include leading design projects, mentoring young engineers, managing client relationships, and leading marketing activities such as proposal writing. You will also conduct power system studies and develop specifications for construction and equipment.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently or as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team.
